In recent decades, climate changes identified both at the global and at the regional/local level have had significant effects on the water resources, which are exposed to climate risk phenomena, whose intensity of manifestation is increasingly severe. These climate risk phenomena refer to two extremes - floods and drought. In the future, the effects of climate change, illustrated by the increase in the number of the climate risk events, the areas and the number of people affected, will have an increasingly significant impact on the water resource itself but also on the way in which this resource is managed. As a result, it becomes imperative to implement prevention, protection, preparation, recovery / reconstruction measures, as well as flood and drought risk awareness measures / actions.
